ഈശ്വരന്‍ എന്ന രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാരന്‍..........

രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാരനെക്കാളും വലിയ കള്ള കളി കളിക്കുന്നത് ഈശ്വരന്‍ അല്ലേ ... യു ഡി എഫ്ഇല്‍ലേത് പോലെ പുള്ളിക്കാരന്റെ വീതംവൈപ്പ്‌ അത്ര ശെരിയല്ല. ദുഷ്ടന്‍മാര്‍ക്ക് വാരിക്കോരി കൊടുക്കും ..നല്ലവര്‍ക്കു പരീക്ഷണവും .. ഇടക്കൊക്കെ പിണറായിയുടെ സ്വഭാവം കാണിക്കും. കൂടെ ഉള്ളവന്‍ എത്ര വൃത്തികെട്ടവന്‍ ആണെങ്കിലും അവനു വേണ്ടി എന്തും ചെയ്യും. കൂടെ നിക്കാത്തവന്‍ എത്ര നല്ലവന്‍ ആണേലും അവനിട്ട് പണിയുകയും ചെയ്യും .. അതിനും പാര്‍ട്ടിയില്‍ ഉദാഹരണങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ .. അത് പോട്ടെ ഞാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു വന്നത് ഈശ്വരന്‍ എന്ന രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാരനെ കുറിച്ചാണ്.. ചിലപ്പോള്‍ ഈ സത്യങ്ങള്‍ എല്ലാരോടും പറഞ്ഞതിന് എനിക്കും കിട്ടും പണി... മണിയെ പോലെ ! കുറച്ചു പേര്‍ പേടിച്ചു പറയുന്നില്ല . ഞാന്‍ പേടിക്കാതെ പറയുന്നു എന്നെ ഉള്ളൂ. . ഹാ ,പക്ഷെ മണിക്ക് കൂടെ നില്‍കാന്‍ ആളുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഈ ശിക്ഷ ഞാന്‍ ചോദിച്ചു വാങ്ങുന്നതാ... പോട്ടെ വീണ്ടും ഈശ്വരനില്ലേക്ക്... ചെയ്യുന്ന എല്ലാത്തിനും പ്രതിഫലം വേണം .. കാര്യസാധ്യത്തിനു നമ്മള്‍ നേര്ച്ച നേരണം.. എങ്കിലേ നടത്തിതരു.
പ്രതികാരം അതും പുള്ളിക്കാരന്റെ ഹോബി ആണല്ലോ. നേര്ച്ച നേര്‍ന്നു അത് കൊടുത്തില്ലെങ്കില്‍ പണി ഉടനെ തന്നു ഓര്മിപ്പിക്കില്ലേ... എനിക്ക് വയ്യ, പറയാനാണേല്‍ കുറെ ഉണ്ട് . എത്ര എന്ന് വച്ചാ ഒരാളുടെ കുറ്റം ഇങ്ങനെ പറയുക ... ഇനി വയ്യ വേണേല്‍ തന്നെ മനസിലാക്കട്ടെ... പക്ഷെ ഞാന്‍ ഈശ്വരനെ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട് കേട്ടോ . ചില നല്ല ആളുകളുടെ രൂപത്തില്‍... പിന്നെ ഈശ്വരന്‍ ഇങ്ങനെ ആണെന്ന് എന്നോട് പറഞ്ഞു തന്നത് ആരാ ? ? ആ... ഞാന്‍ കണ്ടും കേട്ടും വളര്‍ന്നത് ഈശ്വരന്‍ എന്ന അഴിമതിക്കാരനായ രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാരനെ ക്കുറിച്ചാണ് ... അയ്യോ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യല്ലേ... ദൈവം കോപിക്കും! അല്ല കൊച്ചു പിള്ളേര് എങ്ങനെ ചെയ്താലാ ദൈവം കോപിക്കണേ.... ഞാന്‍ ഒന്ന് നോക്കട്ടെ ... എന്നെ എന്തെങ്കിലും ചെയ്യുമോ എന്ന്‌... ചെയ്താല്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ എല്ലാവരും സാക്ഷികള്‍

നഗരവല്ക്കരണത്തിന്‍റെ ഭാഗമായി കേരളത്തില്‍ അങ്ങോളം ഇങ്ങോളം മരങ്ങള്‍ കൊല്ലപെട്ടു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു . അറ്റ് പോയതോ , ചോര വാര്‍നതോ ആയ ശരീരത്തോടെ അവ വഴിയില്‍ കിടക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അവയ്ക്ക് വേണ്ടി കണ്ണുനീര്‍ വാര്‍ക്കാന്‍ പോലും ആരുമില്ല....ഉറ്റവരോ ഉടയവരോ ഇല്ലാത്ത ഇവര്‍ എന്നും അനാഥര്‍........ കൊടുവാളുകള്‍ ദേഹത്ത് കുത്തിയിറക്കുമ്പോള്‍, പിടഞ്ഞു ഭൂമിയില്‍ വീണ് അവ ചുറ്റും നോക്കും ..മരിക്കുന്നതിനു മുമ്പ്‌ അല്പം ദാഹജലം കിട്ടാന്‍ ... ഇവരുടെ തീരാ ശാപം മനുഷ്യര്‍ക്ക് ഏല്ക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ ഹേ വനം-പൊതുമരാമത്ത് മന്ത്രിമാരെ............

എന്റപ്പൂപ്പന്‍ കവിയാ...........

നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കറിയാമോ എന്റപ്പൂപ്പന്‍ വലിയ കവി ആയിരുന്നു കേട്ടോ .......അപ്പൂപ്പന്റെ അമ്മാവന്റെ മകളായ എന്റെ അമ്മൂമ്മയെ പണ്ട് പുള്ളിക്കാരന്‍ ട്യൂണ്‍ ചെയ്യാന്‍ നോക്കി . അവസാനം സാഹിത്യത്തിന്‍റെ ആദ്യാക്ഷരങ്ങള്‍ ചൊല്ലികൊടുത്ത ആരെയൊക്കെയോ മനസില്‍ വിചാരിച്ചു ഒരു കാച്ചു അങ്ങ് കാച്ചി .......

Scarlet letter

The Custom House is largely an autobiographical sketch describing Hawthorne's life as an administrator of the Salem Custom House. It was written to enlarge the overall size of The Scarlet Letter, since Hawthorne deemed the story too short to print by itself. It also serves as an excellent essay on society during Hawthorne's times, and allows Hawthorne to pretend to have discovered The Scarlet Letter in the Custom House.

Hawthorne was granted the position of chief executive officer of the Customs House through the President's commission. His analysis of the place is harsh and critical. He describes his staff as a bunch of tottering old men who rarely rise out of their chairs, and who spend each day sleeping or talking softly to one another. Hawthorne tells the reader that he could not bring himself to fire any of them, and so after he assumed leadership things stayed the same.

Hawthorne describes the town of Salem as a port city which failed to mature into a major harbor. The streets and buildings are dilapidated, the townspeople very sober and old, and grass grows between the cobblestones. The Custom House serves the small ship traffic which goes through the port, but is usually a quiet place requiring only minimal amounts of work.

The connection between Salem and the Puritans is made early on in the text. Hawthorne's family originally settled in Salem, and he is a direct descendent of several notable ancestors. He describes his ancestors as severe Puritans decked out in black robes, laying harsh judgment upon people who strayed from their faith. When discussing his ancestors, Hawthorne is both reverent and mocking, jokingly wondering how an idler such as himself could have born from such noble lineage.

Much of the story then deals with long descriptions of the various men with whom he worked in the Customs House. General Miller, the Collector, is the oldest inhabitant, a man who had maintained a stellar career in the military, but who has chosen to work in the Customs House for the remainder of his years. The other man described by Hawthorne is the Inspector. Hawthorne writes that the job was created by the man's father decades earlier, and that he has held the position ever since. The Inspector is the most light-hearted of the workers, constantly laughing and talking in spite of his age.

The upstairs of the Custom House was designed to accommodate a large movement of goods through the port, and is in ill-repair since it soon became extraneous. Hawthorne says that the large upstairs hall was used to store documents, and it is here that he finds an unusual package. The package contains some fabric with a faded letter "A" imprinted on the cloth, and some papers describing the entire story behind the letter. This is the story that Hawthorne claims is the basis for The Scarlet Letter.

Three years after taking his job as Surveyor, General Taylor was elected President of the United States, and Hawthorne received notice of his termination. Hawthorne remarks that he is lucky to have been let go, since it allowed him the time to write out the entire story of The Scarlet Letter. He finishes the The Custom House with a description of his life since leaving his job as Surveyor, and comments that, "it may be, however...that the great-grandchildren of the present race may sometimes think kindly of the scribbler of bygone days..."

കുറച്ചു നാള്‍ മുന്‍പ്‌ ഞാന്‍ മാതൃഭൂമിയില്‍ ഒരു ലേഖനം വായിക്കാന്‍ ഇടയായി .സി പി എം ലാല്‍ഗഢ് മേഖല സെക്രടറി അനൂജ്‌ പാണ്ഡേയെ കുറിച്ചാണ് അത്.അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്‍െറ പ്രതിമാസാവരുമാനം 1500 രൂപയാണ് എങ്കിലും അദ്ദേഹത്തിനും സഹോദരനും മോശമല്ലാത്തൊരു ഇരുനില വീടും ,നാല്പതു ഭിഗ നിലവും സ്വന്തമാക്കാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞു . ദാരിദ്ര്യത്തിന്‍െറ പരകോടിയില്‍ നില്‍കുന്ന പശ്ചിമ ബംഗാളിലെ ഈ പ്രദേശത്തെ ഏക ഇരുനില വീട് ഇതാണ് .എന്നാല്‍ തദ്ദേശീയ ഗോത്രവര്‍ഗക്കാര്‍ സഹനം നിര്‍ത്തി വച്ചു ഇതിന് എതിരെ പ്രതികരിച്ചു . അവര്‍ അയാളുടെ വീട് തകര്‍ത്തത് ആര്‍പ്പ് വിളികളോടെ ആയിരുന്നു .അടക്കിവച്ച സഹനം പൊട്ടിത്തെറിച്ചത് ഇങ്ങനെയും ..... ലാല്‍ഗഢ് സംഭവം വിലയിരുത്തിയാല്‍ മനസിലാകും ഭരണത്തിന്റെ ഗുണം ജനങ്ങള്‍ക്കല്ല മറിച്ച് നേതാക്കള്ക്കായിരുന്നു എന്ന് . ഇനിയും ഇലക്ഷന്‍ വരും പോകും..പക്ഷെ അതെല്ലാം ലാഭ വിഹിതത്തിനുളള ഒരു തുറുപ്പ് ഗുലാന്‍മാത്രമായിരിക്കും .

സംവരണം ഒരു വിവാദ വിഷയമായി ചര്‍ച്ചകള്‍ക്കും , പരീക്ഷണങ്ങള്‍ക്കും വിധേയമായി കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. സംവരണം എന്നത് കൊണ്ടു എന്താണര്‍ത്ഥം ?????? എനിക്ക് അടുത്തറിയാവുന്ന രണ്ടു സുഹൃത്തുക്കള്‍ ഉണ്ട്. ഒരാള്‍ ഷീറ്റിട്ട് മറച്ച ഒരു ഒറ്റ മുറി പുരയില്‍ താമസിക്കുന്ന ഉന്നത കുലജാത.മറ്റേ ആള്‍ സര്‍വവിധ സൗകര്യത്തോടെ ഒരു ഇരുനില കെട്ടിടത്തില്‍ താമസിക്കുന്ന സംവരണക്കാരി.ആദ്യം പറഞ്ഞ കുട്ടിയുടെ അച്ഛന്‍ മക്ളുടെ പഠിത്തത്തിന് വേണ്ടി കൂലിപ്പണി എടുക്കുമ്പോള്‍ സംവരണക്കാരി ആയതിന്റെ സന്തോഷം അനുഭവിക്കുകയാണ് രണ്ടാമത് പ്രസ്താവിച്ച വ്യകതി.അവസാനം ഉന്നത പഠനത്തിനായി തന്റെ ഷീറ്റ് ഇട്ടു മറച്ച വീടിന്ടെ ആധാരം പണയം വയ്ക്കേണ്ടി വന്നു ഉന്നത കുലജാതയ്ക്ക് . ഏത് വെറും കഥ അല്ല ഞാന്‍ നേരിട്ടു കണ്ട സത്യം ആണ്‌ . ഇങ്ങനെ ഉള്ള സമൂഹത്തില്‍ സംവരണത്തിനു അര്‍ഹ ആരാണ്‌ ????? കഴിവുള്ള പാവപെട്ടവര്‍ ആരായാലും ... ഏത് ജാതിയില്‍ ആയാലും....അവര്‍ക്ക് നല്കുക സംവരണം ...അതാണ്‌ സംവരണം ...അതാണ് മതേതരത്വം ,അതാണ് സോഷ്യലിസം......
